MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT: Transitional Organizational Changes

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As we begin our search for a new Provost, I want to provide everyone with an update on two transitional organizational changes.

Effective immediately, the Neumann Library, under Executive Director Dr. Vivienne McClendon, will transition from reporting to the Senior Vice President and Provost to Dr. LeeBrian E. Gaskins, Senior Associate Vice President for Information Technology/Chief Information Officer. In addition, the Center for Engagement, Teaching, and Learning will transition from reporting to the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs to Dr. Gaskins. This transition will allow Dr. Matthew to concentrate all efforts on the university’s upcoming SACSCOC re-affirmation and QEP initiatives.

I am confident that with Dr. Gaskins’ leadership these organizational changes will better position these two areas to provide optimal services to academic units and students while enhancing overall operational excellence across the university while we search for our next Provost.

I want to thank Dr. Gaskins for his leadership during this transitional period.  I know we will be successful in better serving our students and faculty by making these temporary but important changes.

Sincerely,

Ira K. Blake, Ph.D.
President
