Program examines life aboard space station

The Clear Lake Association of Senior Programs (CLASP) is hosting “Out of this World: The Experience of Living on the International Space Station” on Sept. 8 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Garden Room.

The talk hosted by U.S. Navy Capt. Chris Cassidy, Chief of the Astronaut Office at Johnson Space Center, will discuss life aboard the International Space Station. This event will begin CLASP’s “Visions in Our Midst” Lecture Series for 2016-2017.

Cassidy has served over ten years as a member of the U.S. Navy SEALs, received the Bronze Star and Presidential Unit Citation for his distinguished service across the Afghanistan and Pakistan border. Cassidy was selected to become an astronaut in 2004. His experience includes 182 days in space, six spacewalks and 31 hours of spacewalk time.
